Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Rig Load ("the Platform"), operated at rigload.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform.

Description of Service

Rig Load is a prediction market platform focused on freight transportation topics. Users participate in markets tied to specific outcomes — including rates, volumes, industry indicators, and related events — allowing expectations to be expressed and tracked over time.

Important: Rig Load is for informational and entertainment purposes only. The Platform does not offer real-money wagering, gambling, or financial instruments.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Rig Load. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

Account Registration

To participate in markets, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Platform Rules and Conduct

Predictions and Participation

  • All predictions are final once submitted, subject to a 15-minute window during which you may modify your forecast
  • Reputation scores are calculated based on prediction accuracy using publicly available resolution data
  • Leaderboards and scores are public and visible to other users
  • You may not create multiple accounts to manipulate scores or markets

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to manipulate markets, scores, or leaderboards through fraudulent means
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or its servers
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect user information without authorization
  • Use automated systems or bots to interact with the Platform without permission

Intellectual Property

Our Content

The Platform, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by Rig Load and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

Your Content

By submitting predictions and other content to the Platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating the Platform. This includes displaying your predictions, scores, and display name on leaderboards and market pages.

Rig Load does not provide investment advice, financial advice, regulatory guidance, legal advice, or official industry forecasts. Market prices and consensus figures reflect aggregated participant expectations only. They are not predictions, guarantees, or recommendations.

You should not make business, investment, or professional decisions based solely on information from this Platform. Always consult qualified professionals for advice specific to your situation.

No Guarantee of Accuracy

We make no representations or warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information on the Platform, including:

  • Market resolution data
  • Consensus calculations
  • Reputation scores
  • User-submitted predictions
  • Any third-party data sources referenced

Service Availability

We do not guarantee that the Platform will be available at all times or without interruption. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Platform at any time without notice.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rig Load and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Decisions made based on Platform information
  • Errors in market resolution or scoring
  • Unauthorized access to your account
  • Any other damages arising from your use of the Platform

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rig Load and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Platform
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of a third party

Market Resolution

Resolution Process

Markets resolve based on publicly available data from sources specified in each market's description. Resolution is final once posted.

Disputes

If you believe a market was resolved incorrectly, you may contact us with supporting evidence. We will review disputes in good faith but reserve final discretion over all resolution decisions.

Market Cancellation

We reserve the right to cancel or void markets if:

  • The resolution source becomes unavailable or unreliable
  • The market question becomes ambiguous or unanswerable
  • Fraud or manipulation is detected
  • Other circumstances make fair resolution impossible

Newsletter and Communications

By creating an account, you may receive transactional emails related to your account and the Platform. You may separately opt in to receive our newsletter and marketing communications. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link provided in each email.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, for any reason, without notice. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Platform ceases immediately
  • Your historical predictions and scores may remain visible as part of the Platform's record
  • Provisions of these Terms that should survive termination will survive (including Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnification)

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
