Resolves to the FTR Trucking Conditions Index reading for June 2026 as published in the FTR Intelligence monthly press release or the TCI dashboard at ftrintel.com/trucking-conditions-index. Round to one decimal place. Source: https://ftrintel.com/trucking-conditions-index
FTR Intelligence publishes the Trucking Conditions Index monthly with a six- to eight-week lag, and the composite sits alongside Cass and ACT as a standard reference in trade coverage. Readings above 10 indicate that volumes, rates and margins are all in a range FTR considers favorable for carriers. The January 2026 reading came in at 9.3, the highest since February 2022, after October 2025 printed 0.89. FTR has flagged that March could dip negative on the diesel shock before the index turns back up as rates catch up to fuel. June is the cleanest month to price because it captures whether the post-shock recovery is real or whether the capacity story is stalling out.
